I can't speak for DTV but Sam is correct about DN. The practical effect is that if you are recording a live program, you can't simultaneously watch one live program while recording another. You can, however, record one live program while watching a previously recorded one. I haven't found that limitation to be particularly bothersome. DN does offer its own PVR which is essentially a VCR that records onto a hard drive. I don't know anything about its functionality beyond that detailed on the DN website. It is isn't TIVO.

To make the DirecTivo even more appealing: it has two satellite connection inputs. This is so that it can record two live channels simultaneously whereas I believe the Tivo/Dish Network setup can only record one live channel at a time. -- Sam Nicolary ---- You are receiving this because you are subscribed to the list named "UnivCity."
