Yeah, I was trying to be delicate about it - in case it was Hugs. Poor archie... He almost made it too, only about 5 feet to the curb. My condolences.
Reminds me of when I lived in the pink house @ 46th & Osage back in 1989. A beautiful grey kitten (later to be named Gritney) followed me home and moved in, but always insisted on making forays out onto the mean streets. Well one day, during the winter, Gritney went missing. We hoped for the best and thought maybe he found his way back to his original owners. When the spring came, and the ice melted, our next door neighbor noticed an unpleasant smell eminating from his basement window well. Poor Grit must have gotten hit and then crawled back up to find a warm place to lick his wounds. Then the next year, while living in Providence, another beautiful grey kitten, a virtual twin, followed me home. Named him Gritney - he's an old man now.
