I absolutely agree. And I can't fathom why someone who wants to send
mean spirited and snide emails would imagine that cruel put downs of a
complete stranger to the University City listserve would be appropriate
to share on this general listserve. For whom is this relevant? Only
that subset of
the community that is similarly inclined. We should have a SEPARATE
listserve for denizens of University City whose mission is disseminating
personal slanging and demeaning comments. Then they can wallow in
ad hominem attacks to their hearts' content and stop wasting our
time.

I have to say I agree, I too found the criticsm and the exposure of this
woman who never hurt anyone really disturbing. I wonder if you can
realize how isolating it is to be a single mother of a toddler! It has a
tendency to send one a bit over the edge! But to move to a new city,
and to try and be a student in her situation IS brave, and not to be
mocked, IMHO.
