I also think “neighborhood” is a loose term. I’m moving from a place with bars on the windows at 44th & Baltimore to a place with no bars on 50th & Catharine (off Baltimore). It’s roughly the same neighborhood, but not really.  And I’m an over-precautious safety freak. But the neighbors (that I’ve met so far) are really nice long-term residents.
