I have been in my house 381/2 years.....no robberies or burgularies! I have seen the neighborhood, go down, come back up, go down again, etc.
I used to raise Great Danes, (also Belgian Shepherds) and they do not bark all night, in fact they seldom bark. It's the little ones, in my experience, that do all of the barking.
(Also, we have cats. Most of the so called thieves are deathly afraid of cats.)
Walking a Great Dane, or any other large, breed it not a problem for most of us.
Why do you live in a world of fear? Why are your neighbors having "breakins"?
I still agree with Liz....bars are ugly and unsafe.
I have seen houses here in University city that have the whole porched "barred" in and I really pit thise folks who are so afraid. What are they afraid of?
