They looked at the prices of surrounding property, and a crime wave can't negatively impact the past values of previously sold properties. I really don't care, as a committed owner and resident of UC, if someone selling a house has to fret over not making as _much_ as their over zealous real-estate agent promised them. If/when I decide to sell, I won't attempt to quash the truth about whatever state (waxing or waning) crime happens to be in around here for personal gain. Your other points are valid, but not enough to make me not cry foul when someone actively suggests we cover up what we all know to be a fact: there has been a recent spate of crime (aka A CRIME WAVE) around here. No one on this list should advocate that the UCD speak for all residents regarding this or _any_ issue. UCD is here to make this a better place for all of us, not act as spin-miestering liaisons between the community and reporters. "University City District (UCD) was established in 1997 to improve the quality of life of this 2.2 square mile area of West Philadelphia." http://www.universitycitydistrict.org/about/index.cfm No where does it say "we keep the official stats on crime" -andy diller ---- You are receiving this because you are subscribed to the list named "UnivCity."
