(Heh. Let me try that again..)

The critter could also be a squirrel - assuming "rodent" is a safe
bet, regardless.

There are also little sonic "chase the animal away" devices you can
use that are supposed to drive the animal out of your house. (In my
experience, they don't work for squirrels and personally they just
give me a headache.)

Keep in mind that if you're talking squirrels, baby season isn't that
far away,so you're talking about the possibility of this being a
nest-in-the-making.

If I *had* to choose one (and personally, I've just opted to let the
animal alone and leave when it's warmer or after the babies are ready
to leave the nest), I would choose #1 - there are apparently poisons
that will only kill the critter and not anything that eats the
critter.

Glue traps are VERY nasty/cruel/inhumane, and I strongly suggest
against ever using them.
