I've actually watched my dog take the collar off our cat. Shortly after I put the collar back on the cat (it kept mysteriously coming off) I saw the cat sitting perfectly still on the chair while the dog delicately grabbed the collar and pulled it off the cat's head. It was quite surprising.

It was probably inevitable that Charlie's gone missing. Charlie is a soft grey, short haired, cat, about 1-1/2 years old, very long and fairly thin, although well fed and muscular, neutered although still very much the boy, who we rescued last June. Charlie never agreed to be an indoor only cat, to our chagrin, nor did he agree to wear a collar. 5 missing collars later we gave up. [We have a neighbor who swears she's seen the neighborhood cats helping each other get the collars off.]
He was last seen at 6:00 A.M. yesterday morning. He likes to flirt with neighbors on Regent Square, play with dogs and romp in Clark Park. If anyone has seen him, please e-mail me or call home at 215-222-4453, or at work at 215-955-2578.
