Thanks for posting this, I'd been meaning to ask. Do you mean the church at
the corner of 47th and Cedar? I parked on 47th on Friday night, and my car
had a ticket on Monday morning. This is around the corner from my house, so
I was unaware that there was reason to move the car on Saturday. I checked
the Parking Authority web site, but the options were pay or schedule a
hearing, no provision for mere inquiries. I've been more concerned with the
mystery than the money. Thought maybe I'd missed temporary signs in the
dark on Friday, but it seems not, so I'll write a note too. Sigh. But a
minor annoyance compared to the original question.

Cindy,

I am not sure about the proper course of action but we just sent a little
letter to Jannie Blackwell, the Police Dept. and the Church in the corner
of our block. There was a funeral on saturday and they put up the
temporary No Parking signs (9am to 1pm) the morning of the funeral. Since
we had already been on the spot from the night before, we got a ticket.
It's bad enough that we pay for parking permits in our block but on top of
that, the police dept. didn't follow their own rules of 24h posting of
temporary signs AND we now have to pay a ticket.
