Saturday evening my husband and I attempted to see a movie at The Bridge. We're new parents and in one of those rare moments, the stars seems to align for us on Saturday night. We had two free movie passes. The baby was fed and SLEEPING! We were ready to spend a couple of hours suspending our disbelief with the movie Hitch when out of the blue we were told by a security guard babies aren't allowed in the movie theater after 7 pm. It was 7:05. Being raised by lawyers, I tried to push our way through with technicalities. After all, we were meeting friends and I had already bought our popcorn. "Our movie started at 6:50 which is technically before 7", I said. He was having none of that and we were denied. He said it's a Philadelphia law and The Bridge is one of the few movie theaters that enforce it. I looked on their website. No mention of policy. Has anyone heard of such a law or had a similar experience? Our cost for the experience: $8.00 for parking and $8.50 for popcorn and coke.

Public service announcement: Don't try to see a movie with your baby after 7:00 pm a The Bridge. Or if you do, carry the baby inside your coat instead of a car seat. :)

We did try the new MexiCali restaurant on 40th street. I assume it's run by the same people that run the lunch truck. It was inexpensive, quick and good.
