I'm looking for houses NEAR THE TROLLEY LINES on Chester & Baltimore, between 42nd St. and 49th St., for this upcoming tour which is being held on May 14th, also Penn graduation & alumni weekend (bad for some potential tour house owners). Do you have any ideas for houses in the area I've described? Is your house ready for the tour?Â
This is a serious email, intended to get the widest input possible so that we can have a tour which most people will enjoy. It's not a joke; nor is it an invitation to once again discuss the proposed historic district! What I'd like (off list, if possible) is your serious suggestions - either about your own house, the house someone you know has renovated, or a place you've always wanted to see.
Certain "old favorites" in the neighborhood have already been on the tour in the past; we won't include them again, unless new people who haven't seen them indicate an interest - so let me know what you want to see! Also, I know that many newer homeowners have been doing great renovation/rehab work, and I'd love to have information on these houses so we can ask their owners to be on the tour.
May 14th will be a busy day in University City: in addition to the House Tour in the afternoon, the historic trolleys will be running for free most of the day, and in the evening, the University City Arts League will hold its annual auction. Mark your calendar, if any of these events interest you!
