Susan -
I wouldn't recommend UPenn for standard cat care - they get really pricy, and are more for emergencies. I'm assuming by the lack of hours that you're taking Scrunch to the Cat Vet on South Street? I used to use her but stopped because I couldn't get an appointment when I needed it. I use the Cat Doctor at 22nd & Brandywine. She has another doctor working with her, so there's always someone available, she's open from 7-7 - Monday-Friday, and has hours until 2:00 on Saturday. Her number is (215) 561-7668.

Does anyone have any thoughts about the UPenn Vet Hospital, particularly when
it comes to cat care?
I took Scrunch the Cat to a local vet for some dental work yesterday, and today I
have some problems and questions, and his local vet is not open on Thursdays.
I like the vet, but this limited access really bothers me. They also insisted I give
him this antibiotic that has to be shot down his throat instead of crumbled in his
food - instead of Amoxicilin, which can be crumbled in his food. I knew that I
would not be able to use the pill gun, and I told them that, but they insisted that
I take the other medication. I left the vet a message today informing them that I
was going to come and *get* the Amoxicilin on Friday.
I called UPenn and they gave me some information. Also, they are close by. I am
thinking about transferring him there. Does anyone know the pros and cons?
