lol... Well, Katz's is still there, but all the mom-and-pop stores along 14th Street have been replaced by NYU-approved national chains....
The best bagel I have ever had - in New York or anywhere - was from the bakery on Roosevelt Island. They trucked the bread in from a kosher baker in Queens.
