"....the government we have gives freedome and livelihood to the Gentry, to
have abundance, and to lock up Treasures of the Earth from the poor, so that
rich men may have chests full of Gold and Silver, and houses full of Corn
and Goods to look upon; and the poor that works to get it, can hardly live,
and if they cannot work like Slaves, then they must starve......and yet you
say this is a righteous government, but surely it is no other than
self-ishness, which is the great Red Dragon, the Murtherer.

"Buying and Selling is an Art, whereby people endeavour to cheat one another
of the Land.......and true Religion is, To let every one enjoy it."

"Was the earth made to preserve a few covetous, proud men to live at ease,
and for them to bag and barn up the treasures of the Earth from others, that
these may beg or starve in a fruitful land; or was it made to preserve all
her children?"

Gerrard Winstanley The New Law of Righteousness, 1649

 Ross,

I am sorry but we do have secret rules. Many of them. They are chiefly
secret because we forgot where we put them and are trying to find them.

I am unfortunately out of the Black Fungus of Persia at the moment because
I blew my fungus money on mailing 400 copies of the newsletter instead, so
park planning aficionados could get their fix on time, and I haven't gotten
reimbursed yet.

We are currently considering a proposal to change the name of Clark Park
to "Lincoln Financial Park." We are not at liberty to disclose the name of
the other party to the negotiations at this time. But the resulting revenue,
we feel, could fund a continuous flow of information about the Recreation
Dept.'s capital improvement plans into every household in University City,
three days a week, whether they like it or not. If they don't have a
computer and don't read the paper and are too feeble to visit the park's
bulletin board, we'll tape planning documents to a brick and heave the brick
through their window. As often as it takes.

But bricks are expensive, so we're going to need corporate backing. I
think it's worth it, though, because nothing in life is more important than
park planning.

DUDE!!! Don't start telling me you really do have SECRET RULES that you
don't publish in the bylaws. I mean, those bylaws are so bleeping detailed
(9 pages) that if there really is a UC Review Rule why isn't it even hinted
at???? Are you messing with my mind or what?

Now who's smoking the Black Fungus of Persia???????

Exasperated,
