There you go again Glenn.

I think most everyone around more objectively sees that the time place and
almost location was announced weeks ago, with the only unknown being the
specific building at Pharmacy out of two choices. Hardly a refusal to announce
the time place and location as you keep putting it. And by the way, what was
the time place and location of your meeting that involves off list invitations
and secret handshakes?
As to the Bylaws, you oddly blame the cabal for not changing the bylaws to
conform to an apparent motion from the members as if it were some secret that
they were not amending the bylaws. You being an expert on transparency,
governance and all, can't we expect a somewhat more accurate description of
events? You don't say the leadership kept the existence of the Bylaws secret,
or that they quashed an underground movement to amend them, but suggest that it
is their fault even though apparently no one made an attempt to amend.
Take a deep breath and enjoy the cold sunny day in the park!

Paul

Neighbors,

This Monday night post shows it all. This pretense is too late. The refusal of
the FOCP to announce tonight's meeting 3 WEEKS AGO is no longer to be blamed on
the editor of the UC Review. The newly appointed board member/publicity
chairman for FOCP has been set up as "the fall guy."

As Ross pointed out, the FOCP long-term leadership has failed to include in the
new by-laws the requirement to publicly announce meetings "at least 10 days in
advance" in the local paper. So there is no written record of the member's
wishes/requirement. Since November, the FOCP leadership has been "unable" to
successfully place an announcement in the UC Review while ignoring the
discussion of making "public" announcements, accountability, and transparency.

Sending this post to a public listserv after the last possible chance for the
NEW chairman to meet the announcement deadline is simply inexcusable. Doesn't
Mr. West understand newspaper deadlines?

I spoke with the new FOCP publicity chairman in the park over a week ago. When
I asked this person some questions, I discovered that this person had been
asking, "what am I to do?" It is simply inexcusable to pretend that this
refusal to announce meetings to the community is the fault of this new person.
It's inexcusable to give anyone a job without guidelines and set them up to
fail to provide a cover.

It's absurd to pretend that none of the long- term leaders could figure out how
to announce meetings properly since November. THERE WAS NO MISTAKE AND THERE IS
NO EXCUSE. This set up of an individual neighbor is DISGUSTING. The member's
requirements are irrelevant to the FOCP leadership.

Had the new by-laws not ignored the membership requirements, it would be clear
that tonight's meeting would not be valid because of improper announcement.
