I was there, and really enjoyed it, but that's because I've loved PHC since way back. There was a short portion where he was (in my opinion) really trying to goad the audience into booing him a la sports fans booing at games. It worked -- we booed him :) but everyone was laughing while doing it.
The part that felt tacky to me during that negative moment (brief as it was) was mentioning the MOVE incident (not by name). But hey, I'm not a radio show producer. Perhaps that gets more ratings. There were lots of nice mentions about Philly. But I agree with Ross that he focused too much on South Philly and Philly being a Blue Collar Town. He mentioned a lot of firsts, but not ENIAC (WOO! Go nerds!) nor the Zoo nor Bartram's nor Fairmount nor Woodland Cemetery, and I'm sure I'm missing a million other firsts or fascinating facts about Philly. I wouldn't complain about that normally, given that you only have so much time during a live broadcast. But he had enough time to *repeat* some of the more obvious items, I felt he could have not been redundant but rather fit in more interesting sites. First time in the Kimmel. Pretty cool place. Terry was fun, Amos was interesting, Bluegrass was foot-stomping, and the skits were enjoyable. Heck, the coat check was free! Dan W.
