I don't know if you out there saw this; It is a fairly good article about our former police commissioner, his achievements here and his frustrations with reform. In light of the recent death count and the mayoral elections, it might be helpful to review our recent history and the problems of reform in a political atmosphere that squelches all attempts at serious change in the interest of preserving the privilege of the status quo.
