It was my post that initally mentioned a teacher's being slapped or punched who I thought deserved such treatment, based on my observation. I admit that I was musing and had some thoughts on the situation. It was an isolated incident, I admitted, but made me wonder how much current conditions can be construed to be related to teachers' behavior.
However, after talking with several teachers whom I know and really reading these news reports, I am convinced that there is wholesale slaughter occurring. Whatever is happening right now is the continuation of a long-standing, ignored situation and not something that just occurred. And I love the way it's implied that it's the teachers who "stepped in doodoo". Let's shift the blame from permissive, non-responsive or AWOL parents to teachers whose job is to teach, not to raise these kids. That's why things are as bad as they are now: The Blame Game.
