A new advertising campaign seems to be developing in the neighborhood.
Someone has started affixing high quality glossy bumper stickers to
poles with the following information:

This is West Philly
"University City" is a marketing scheme

Maybe it's an April Fools joke.

Just as the Colonists kicked the Crown's jackbooted-tax-collecting-thugs
from our midst, a new generation yearns to live the life of The American Dream
-
self-determination in off-campus W/SW Philadelphia - with the absence of
self-serving mandates of private institutions ever feeding at the publics'
troughs.

We whimpered like cowardly dogs when they remade Smokes into a parking
garage and drove out Doc Watson's. The Tyrants imperiously took away on-campus
spirits and now they expropriate the people's independent off-campus living.

While we legally can not hang the UCD Tories from the trees of Clark Park,
let the demands for freedom be constantly and productively seen and heard
among us.

Forget not the lessons of our history:

"Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers
from the consent of the governed."

Declaration of Independence, 4 July 1776

The Revolution has begun, anew.
