Hello again, Besides looking for a contractor, I'm looking for advice. My old deck sat on a rubber roof, and my roofing contractor says this is a bad idea, especially since there is a brick retaining wall around the deck (which is on top of a 2-story addition on the 3-story house). He wants to build supports for the deck from the structure of the roof. These supports (4x4s) would go through the new roofing material (rubber or tin). Thoughts?
