DIVA! Cecelia Chaisson in Concert
Don’t miss the opportunity to hear Cecelia Chaisson, dramatic coloratura
soprano, who will perform arias and art songs on Saturday, May 5 at 7:30 pm in
the beautiful domed St. Francis de Sales church at 4626 Springfield Ave.,
University City, Philadelphia.
Ms. Chaisson’s extraordinary voice has been highly praised by critics. She has
won many awards, including winner in the Luciano Pavarotti Voice Competition
and the Baltimore Opera International Voice Competition, plus first place in
the D’Angelo Young Artists Competition.
Ms. Chaisson will be accompanied by Joseph Krupa. Krupa holds a M.M. in Piano
Performance from the University of Calgary. An active accompanist in the
tri-state area, he is organist and pianist at First Presbyterian Church in
Salem, New Jersey.
This recital marks the celebration of the release of Cecelia Chaisson’s first
CD recording, Mosaics in Music, which will be available for sale at the
concert. After the concert, Cecelia will be available to personally sign copies
of the CD.
This concert is a fund raising event for the St. Francis de Sales Organ
Restoration Society. A donation of $25 is suggested for tickets, $15 for
seniors and students. Tickets are available at the De Sales Rectory office,
after the 10:45 mass at De Sales each Sunday, and at the door on the evening of

Abbraccio Restaurant, located at 47th Street and Warrington Avenue, just one
block from the church, is planning a special pre-concert three-course Italian
dinner. Proceeds will also benefit the Organ Restoration Society. Details about
the dinner will be announced in their next newsletter, or you may call for
