In any event I'm happy to report that it is now LEGAL to post bills to
utility poles -- Our city councilwoman has valiantly un-destroyed Glenn's right
to free speech -- like a Phoenix from the ashes -- Al (I believe) posted the
exact statute. So we may all join UCD now in celebrating the free
grassroots-friendly advertising spaces and UCD can get back to emptying the
community trash cans and sweeping up litter along Locust. Glenn will no doubt
let us know when he's found a new windmill.

  Cassidy,
That's great! I thought that just covered campaign posters. I hope your
telling the truth.

If I catch a UCD employee following orders and removing NO-NID posters, do
you think I'll be able to have Lewis arrested for conspiracy to infringe on
free speech?

The courts may still be too clogged with illegal singers, puppies, etc. At
least the folks on the listserv won't be standing in handcuffs with their "lost
kitty" posters, when they haul in Lewis.

Cassidy, if your report is truthful it provides a good example of the
difference between an elected representative government and a corporate
appointed plutocracy. You should try to consider these things.

When an unaccountable, appointed, UCD can assume the role of the courts,
taxman and police too, we have lost the republic. Torture, patriotic acts and a
lot of other things the UCD herd has not considered will be possible down the
road. I mean much more than torturing gooks, terrorists, and trustafarians
which we already believe is God's will.

Tyrants and plutocrats can be patient and persistent. Look how UCD kept the
taking and unpopular redesign of Clark Park in the creepy recesses of the Horn
and Hardart for years. The BID proposal was kept secret for approximately 10
years.

I hope you can someday see that the windmill I'm trying to hold on to is
important. While we still have an elected government and courts, we can repeal
these UCD types of abuses. Corporations won't be able to control our evolving
culture with their mix of domination and dependency like UCD has nearly
achieved.

At another time, I'll explain clogged courts and prosecution resources. I'll
also explain why the courts and police never seemed to interpret reasonably
posted lost kitty posters and NO-NID posters to be a crime. You need to stop
taking the bullshit from loud mouth civic association leaders on faith.

By the way Cassidy, your post seems almost reasonable. Is an overpaid UCD
official writing for you? I'm going to ask my friend Melanie to see if there is
a conspiracy going on. As you know, she has great admiration for my work and
she is good at uncovering conspiracies.

Thanks for the info. Now, get back to your studies.

  Glenn

Your point isn't sound, Glenn. To claim that UCD is against free speech
because they tear down illegal posters is akin to claiming that the
state of Pennsylvania is trying to destroy the right to drive a car
because they refuse to register cars that don't pass inspection. To see
the attempt to stifle civil rights in UCD's actions is tinfoil helmet
  paranoia.
