If you think about it, a Penn Communications Specialist like Ray also has to
monitor UC-list, since it is so highly specialized.
However, UC-list is not an official channel of communication for either
Ray's intimate branch of Penn communications or for John's more distant and
tenuous connection.
One thing I like about communicating with John: When you call him about a
community problem, you get a prompt callback, and a sincere effort to
resolve your problem. You can always meet him and talk with him.
When, on the other hand, you call Ray about a community problem, you get a
voicemail he ignores. Later, you will be attacked by Ray in writing on the
internet. You will never be allowed to meet Ray and talk with him.
Ray is an example of Penn at its worst. I'd much rather do business with
John.

well, the good news is that john has assured me by email that he does
indeed monitor the list for safety and security issues.
and if you think about it, lew (since you were cc'd as well), a subscriber
in john's position couldn't very well do but just that! :-)
