Do you suspect that Penn coached Nutter on his responses during the debates? Was it Penn's strategy that he not attack the other candidates and stick to the issues? If it is so then my hat's off to Penn; they should cultivate more candidates like Michael Nutter.

Sometimes when we attribute too much power to an entity, we succeed in giving it credit for manipulating everything. That's ideological thinking: seeing everything in terms of either for or against Penn interest. I don't think that they are that powerful. I'm no fan of Penn and have worked for them and with them - that is certain departments - but do not think that they engineer our elections.

Tuesday's election is not between 2 candidates, it is between 5.
The press (and Penn) has used polls and newspaper endorsements
to convince people there are only 2 choices.

Vote for who you believe is the best candidate for our city.

I think you know what to expect if Penn is controlling city hall
through their candidate.

Tuesday's Democratic Mayoral primary is a two-man race, when we'll choose
between:

Michael Nutter, who has worked in City Hall, knows how City Council
functions and is committed to real change.

or Knox, a "successful businessman" with no real experience in government,
coaltion building or political compromise but who has lots of money (he's
spent almost $10 million to buy this election) and political connections who
claims that he is for change.

It's like the Nadar/Gore/Bush 2000 presidental election.
I respect people's right to vote for anyone they want, but it's important to
be practical about this election: just like those votes for Nadar put Bush
in the White House, a vote for Evans or Fattah is a vote for Knox.

We have the power to put the right man in the mayor's office and keep good
men working for Philadelphia in Harrisburg and Washington DC. Please use
your vote wisely.
