Folks. The police commissioner didn't show up for the meeting scheduled with the ACLU and the brave citizens whom are being intimidated and arrested in Rittenhouse Square. They sent a group of top brass instead with a "we're looking into the issue" response.
Consequently, the leaders and ACLU advisors are asking us to send the lettters to the editor and to city council in support of keeping the 1st amendment to the Constitution here in Philadelphia. I couldn't stay for the rally, so I can't report how things went yesterday. I wonder how much tax payer money has been wasted on this police harassment going on in Rittenhouse Square? At the first rally, I would estimate there were at least a dozen to twenty cops and supervisors ready to arrest us as we sang God Bless America. Is this the solution to crime? Back in 2001-2002,the UCD and FOCP tried to force event organizers in Clark Park to pay for police squads so that the FOCP could have the people arrested on command. I previously explained this to the listserv. It was the attempted requirement of imposing the "Special Events Review Committee" through the demands of the UCD/FOCP hand picked "Quality of Life Task Force" Tony West was not there, but of course, he has already given you a complete description of my lies on this matter. Those opposed to elimination of Constitutional rights, please write some letters. Sincerely, Glenn
