"But sometimes I'm dumb like that" Pmuye,
You don't mind if I call you, Pmuye, for short? It's your buddy here and I don't want you to be so hard on yourself. You cheeky devil, you aren't trying to be a wanker are you? Yes, I know how to get in touch with the current gang over at SHCA. They claim to represent the neighborhood in which I live and I'm frightenend by them. I think the Prez is still the former FOCP Prez I know. But my question and request for help is by no means limited to the current gang. I think more of the exciting elections and discussions about the 3 choices sent to UCD probably happened several years ago, 2003, 2002,etc. You may have missed the fact that UCD chose the same "community representative" for SHCA for several years. I would be especially interested in stories from people who refuse to give any more money to SHCA. Like me, there might be others out there furious that they didn't hear about this "3 choice" paradigm for the anointing of the local lord. Just my opinion, but had the SHCA leaders chosen to take an honorable path when UCD started the occupation, there would have been a front page news story about this return of feudalism? There might be folks out there reading who have SHCA stories to share. Now that some list wankers seem to have retreated a bit with their ganging up, I hope decent folks feel empowered to tell their stories. If they do and the wankers start wanking, I hope you'll join me and come to the defense of posters sharing their honest experiences. I am especially interested in anyone who has a similar finding to that I have with FOCP. If they say: "I tried with those _________ at SHCA for a long time. I would not give that group one penny and here is why..." I hope you better understand this public request for information, Pmuye. First, SHCA is pretty easy to find on the internet. If you're (not your) not familiar with search engines or Google, here's a link that you can use to start your (not you're) excellent investigation: http://www.sprucehillca.org/ You won't believe it, but you'll actually find things like newsletters, minutes and the date, time and place of the next meeting. They even have their by-laws posted although not, apparently, all of their policies, protocols and MO's. Second, and no less important for the good communication I know you strive for, they have an official organizational e-mail address. So you could actually send the request to the org rather than this list serve. It reminds me of how one can publish a notice in the newspaper of a lawsuit when you have trouble actually giving a copy to the defendant. I always wonder who in the heck reads legal notices and what the odds are that the right person would see the notice of the suit. But sometimes I'm dumb like that. Oh, and a bonus: there is a list of the board officers and members. Some are on the list and you could write to them directly as well. Good luck on your quest. Enjoy your research. And remember what Chairman Mao said. I’ve noticed that your, Barry Grossbach, has been chosen by UCD since the beginning and he has been listed as a "community representative" for years. Could someone give me the names of the other two SHCA candidates in the years, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, and 1999? I’m sure that these names were reported in the newsletter to members. So if anyone could give me the links to these newsletter reports, that would be sufficient. Did the board have an election to choose the three names or was there a different process? Did UCD interview each candidate to assess compliance? Also could someone explain why the Spruce Hill Civic Association representative is called a "community representative" on the UCD web site? I honestly think someone from the association needs to send a letter to UCD explaining that this, "community representative" is a very inappropriate title and have it removed. UCD is making your association look very bad. There is a new term for the phenomenon, astroturfing, and it is a claim to fake grass roots support. Thanks for the help, Glenn Moyer PS: I noticed that the Squirrel Hill Civic Association does not have a UCD Board member. I’d like to publicly thank you and express my admiration of your association for not selling out the citizens of your area. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ AOL now offers free email to everyone.
