Joe, something we do that works well for us is I put a small fan in
the 2 or 3 rooms I use the most often and aim them at the radiators.
It essentially works like a hair dryer, running cold air across the
hot coils. I doubt it changes how much you pay for heat, but it does
put the heat in the rooms where you want it most, and heats those
rooms up much faster.
