Dear citizens of planet earth, Forget about the consumer madness which surrounds our eternal holy solstice day. Tomorrow, have some cider and wine and take communion with the divine.
If you find yourself in a dark and frightening corner of the district hiding from the UCD secret police and lamenting your loss of rights and citizenship, here is a poem to comfort you and help start your holy communion. Solstice Prayer Oh mighty orb who lights the great darkness, With warmth, you bathe our skin and hearts, And nourish all children of your grand diaspora, All are equal and loved under your gaze. With love and tender affection, We creatures worship your return. Oh strong and loving goddess, Mother of whale, Abraham, and microbe, Dance again with our Father; your husband, And sing the ancient songs for the newest year. With love and tender affection, We creatures worship your embrace. Oh Creators, love too our brothers and sisters, Those who hunger, bleed or kill without end. And forgive the angry tyrants claiming they are thee, Yet smite as you will the sins, hatreds, and crimes. And with love and tender affection, Remember the creatures after we turn again to dust.
