I was mistaken. He loves the Western Union Building. He said it's better than the vagrants who used to be there. Me, I miss the Savoy Restaurant there which will soon be a Walgreens. Ick.

I think with the bad acoustics, lost was the point that he now loves the building upon its completion (suggesting we should not fear change) and he alleges it brings good quality new life to the gayborhood.

Not made clear, was the Western Union Building is a long existing structure situated in the streetscape, unlike the possible Zeus-like thunderbolt appearance of the TLTower amongst a Victorian Homes equivalent of a stand of trees.

I videotaped most of it. I had to leave just before 10 pm, though.

My favorite parts:

The guy from the Delaware Valley Smart Growth Alliance saying, "We love this project!" and then telling us he hated the 10-story Western Union Building that was built across from HIS expensive 3- story trinity at Quince and Locust.

Barry Grossbach trying to restore order by insisting "This is NOT a community meeting!"
