Thanks for that history, Wilma.

Because this technology serves a powerful purpose by connecting us, it
frightens those in the status quo. Secrecy helps maintain the tight control
and concentration of power in the hands of a few individuals. For them, they
get the power to claim community backing for whatever their personal agenda may
be.

Secrecy and unannounced public forums also help cast intimidation widely.
People know their voices are not heard by those maintaining the secrecy. It
reinforces the idea that the only possible way to have your views, questions,
or concerns heard is to "kiss-up" to the leaders privately.

The community is not entitled to a public discussion of very important
community issues. First we need to pay the tiny group of leaders dues. Then
we need to buy them coffee privately and kiss-up away from the eyes and ears of
our neighbors.

These powerful anointed "representatives" cannot defend publicly the
plutocratic principals that demand iron rule. That is why they attack the
character of dissenters and try to justify their abuses because they are "hard
overworked volunteers." Anyone who doesn't then shut-up and thank them is
again a hot head trouble maker.

This "hard working volunteer" stuff was tried again Wed night on several
occasions. It is contemptuos of all the neighbors who had to rush in panic to
come to that meeting. Penn brought in a clown from some corporate smart growth
society to glorify the hotel then out the door he dashed. The poor man was
missing his singing club.

But what about all of our neighbors who sat their for 3 hours? They didn't
have a choice because they had to scramble and sacrifice largely because so
much trickery was used to eliminate their opportunity to be heard.

I've certainly heard enough about hard working volunteers requiring secrecy.
These power brokers should resign and concentrate on their singing if they
don't have the ability or time to conduct themselves responsibly in these
leadership positions!

As far as Suzanne and her "My Word" post, the UC listserv is still a forum
where people in our community can find out about community announcements, etc.

The supreme irony is that it began as the Spruce Hill listserv on LibertyNet,
(now defunct) so the SHCA officers could conduct business online to expedite
community business.

As more people got online, an Internet Committee was started and Jeff
Abramson started the listserv which eventually became the UC listserv.

Powerful UC people unsubscribed YEARS ago, when disagreement or just
questions and/or challenges arose with regard to their vision for the economic
development of this area and who should control such.

To FOCP Board members on the list,

I see you still have Siano. You have my complete sympathy.

I took pity on the dude several years ago and recruited him to the Clark
Park Music and Arts Community, a group I founded and led for 5 years. You'll
remember that at that time, CPMAC was the largest group of volunteers in Clark
Park organizing some 300+ volunteers to sponsor 2 day long community
celebrations in the park as well as a series of benefit shows with local
performers.

Siano had just made a huge fool of himself with his counter historic
district proposal and pretense to have a new community organization behind him.
I knew he was strange, but had no idea of his character.

Taking pity on Siano was by far the worst mistake I ever made as leader of
the group. You folks really need to clean house and get rid of Siano if you
wish to gain respectability for your hard work as volunteers.

Look at Siano's recent attack against me on the list. He thought West
needed protection so West can continue his personal attacks to intimidate our
neighbors.

Look at his willingness to lie about me. Don't focus on the ad hominem
parts. That whole strategy has been exposed.

Look at his willingness to tell bold lies. Whether or not you like the
activities I've created and nurtured in the park is not the issue. You know my
extensive involvement with Clark Park. Focus on his willingness to boldly lie
while he is representing the association. His post was about Clark Park and he
was representing the FOCP when he made that attack.

Consider how this reflects upon your work, your organization.

    Sincerely,
    Glenn
