Citizens, Once a wonderful community existed between 40th St and 38th Sts. and between Spruce and Walnut Sts. What we know today as an abandoned wasteland where sex offenders, robbers, and murderers gather has been languishing for decades.
I propose that the good people of our neighborhood gather together and reach out to reclaim this neighboring eyesore. Using the process of eminent domain to clear blighted areas, I propose that we erect several high rises to provide affordable housing for poor and moderate income families as well as housing opportunities for new immigrants. The Spruce Hill Civic club and the DE Smart growth society want to increase population density near public transportation. I can think of no better way than reclaiming dangerous abandoned parcels such as the former Hamilton village. As a gesture for the unhappy hotel developers, I propose that we save some space near 39th and Locust to erect a 24 story extended stay Hilton. We can revitalize the area with numerous skyscrapers and no one would ever object to making that dangerous area cleaner and safer. Are you with me good people?
