I wonder if the LCB wanted you to make the announcement beyond the membership more than 30 minutes in advance? Not much time for the RSVP.
I don't care about the overall success of the party, but they might have wished you had thought of an earlier public annoucement. My concern for the future would be walking in to buy a bottle of wine and finding myself secluded in the middle of a mass of the anointed. Warnings should be given to the public in advance! ----- Original Message ----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, March 07, 2008 4:28 PM Subject: [UC] WINE TASTING tonight at the NEW liquor store, 49th & Baltimore, 5-7 p.m. Not busy early this evening? A reminder about tonight's wine tasting was sent to Cedar Park Neighbors yesterday; I've copied it below. It does ask for RSVPs, but given the rainy weather, I'll bet the event won't be overly crowded, and they probably won't be taking attendance, as long as you look like you're 21. You might want to stop by. The difference between the prior "Soviet-style liquor store," as Rick Nichols described it in the Inquirer, and this new store is astounding. - Melani Lamond -------------- Greetings! On behalf of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, I invite you to the Grand Opening of the Wine & Spirits store at 4906-08 Baltimore Avenue in Philadelphia. Relocating from 4924 Baltimore Avenue, the newly opened store will assist with the revitalization of its neighborhood by offering the community an accessible and safe location to purchase wine and spirits. The store will also bring a greater selection of products and a more enjoyable shopping experience while maintaining the same friendly faces you’ve come to know from the former location. We hope that you will join us for the ribbon cutting on Friday, March 7, from 5-7 p.m. at 4906- 08 Baltimore Avenue to toast the Grand Opening of the new Wine & Spirits store. Wine tasting, of course, and light refreshments will be offered throughout the celebration.
