I don't really feel it is my business to suggest a use for other
people's property. That's a kind of neighborhood planning game I see no
point in playing "Oh, why doesn't somebody open another restaurant for
me; but it's got to be a cute little restaurant...." I'm not
persuaded by alleged "marketing surveys", whether conducted by UCD or
UClist. Property owners must come up with uses for their property on their own; they are the ones who pay the bills on that property. If you (or any other neighbor) is prepared to propose an actual business proposition of your own for this property, that they'll back up out of pocket, I'll be as fascinated to read it as I am by the hotel proposal.
