After it became obvious that the mom driving school was a no go we went
through AAA.  For the teenager they had the classes to help meet the
insurance company's certification to lower rates and then you could pay for
the desired number of hours one on one behind the wheel.  (Unlike my high
school classes in the ancient past when the students competed with the
drivers ed/baseball coach's need to update the local paper on the team
scheduling).
