This is an important and scary story, thankfully with a happy ending. Even if you don't own a dog, you may encounter one on the loose some day...and it may need help... YOUR help. Please read...and send along to friends, family, and neighbors with dogs.

Hi-
I am so sorry that I didn't write to you before. The dog was returned to her family last night, they live 2 blocks from me. She had been stolen from the yard and used for fighting. A strange thing is that I had her scanned for a microchip at PACCA and they didn't find it, though she does have one and it was read the next day at a private vet in delaware county (she was at a foster home there for one day :) I though you might want to know all of this. I live at 53rd and Catharine and i have 2 dogs. They are not pits, so I guess I didn't realize how often dogs are stolen around here. I will definitely keep a closer eye out on my dogs, and warn everyone I know.

This story has a very happy ending (the dog and the family- 2 kids- were sooooo happy to see each other. It was exciting and amazing. She is hurt, but not terribly and will be better soon. They have invited us over for dinner and doggie play- dates at the park. Thought I would send you some nice news. Living in Philly sometimes it is hard to come by. :)

Susie
