The staff of Project 360 will present a community meeting introducing a new
non-profit resource center that makes homeschooling a viable option to
traditional education. Families of middle and high school students who are
dissatisfied with public and private school options are invited to learn about
our new program and resource center.

Project 360 provides guidance and resources, including classes and
activities, tutoring, connections to volunteer, internship and work
opportunities and a social space where members can come and go as they choose.
The facility, located in the city’s vibrant Italian Market, also offers a
computer lab and teen-directed bookstore where members can gain real-life
experience in the many aspects of small business. The program is founded and
directed by Molly Russakoff in the building where she ran Molly’s Bookstore and
lived for eight years with her two children, homeschooling teens John and Carla
Dickie.

Project 360 is modeled on North Star, a center for self-directed learning for
teens located in Hadley, Massachusetts. North Star has been operating
successfully since 1995. Project 360 is working closely with co-founders Ken
Danford and Joshua Hornick to make this the second center of its kind and the
first in an urban area. For more information about North Star, visit
www.northstarteens.org. Our own website, www.project360teens.org, will be up
and running shortly.

Project 360 is scheduled to open in September 2008. This is one of a series
of informational meetings to be held in different locations around the city.
Individual meetings can also be scheduled by calling 215-923-3367. For a
schedule of meetings and other events, visit www.project360teens.org.
