That's a good point!
For several years we've been reading these glowing news-mercials about the
Friends of 40th St. Penn-praxis congratulates itself for brilliant
community driven forums. The only time I went, a long time ago, it was
nothing but a dog and pony show. We were told to drool at the "vision" and
throw out wishes for a new and improved centrally planned 40th St. (I
remember a woman speaking well about Marty's, the downscale store that had
all your needs covered. I hope L&I can't find her.)
Penn-praxis, our friend on 40th St, should have been hosting a public forum
before delisting the mansion was secretly attempted! This hotel group and
Penn-praxis are interconnected through Penn Real Estate. It appears to me
that Penn-praxis is less of a friend to public forums and transparency, and
more of a friend to secret agendas and conflict of interest than we were led
to believe.
Joe asked it well: ""What's Penn's interest in all this?"
Why are we Pennspiracist theorists or anti-Penn for asking this question?
Just like Joe was able to rattle off a list in which the university seemed
to conduct itself while having some questionable ethics-many of us can add
to it! Why does this important question seem to be forbidden with the
threat of an ad hominem attack for those who dare to ask it?
People would not need to probe and study so carefully, if the powerful
neighbors were open and honest with us in the first place! I know that I
would be able to support some of their agendas if they would just be honest.
One thing we can generally say with great confidence; there is more going on
than we are being told.

PS: I read a letter in the Daily News. The writer was complaining about a
biased article, "big publicity," about the Delaware River issues in that
rag, The Public Record. I didn't check. I only pick up that paper to
clean-up after my dog.
