The Inquirer investigative reporting of the BRT has been a great service to citizens and a great example of the nearly extinct profession of journalism. Here is the closing editorial. Bravo!
http://www.philly.com/inquirer/opinion/20090505_Editorial__Corrupt_to_the_core.html BRT is the tip of the iceberg!!! Illegal backroom dealing with powerful political allies/corporate cronies, as well as false record keeping is rampant in the Mayor's reform government. As a citizen journalist, I followed and reported similar examples in the Philadelphia City Planning Commission, the Philadelphia Historic Commission, and the Streets department in the past year alone. (Yes, I brought the shenanigans to the attention of those "journalists" at the "independent" Daily Pennsylanian.) i've come to the same conclusions about the need for citizens to use the courts if the FBI refuses to put our rulers in jail, instead of jailing vulnerable Philadelphians for untreated psychiatric conditions.
