Please share our joy and pardon duplications.
I'd rather this message reach all intended parties than miss any of the good
neighbors I hope to reach. If you don't think it is meant for you, please feel
free to delete.
I love the phrase, "It takes a Village...". our son, Michael Motyka, will
graduate from West Catholic on Saturday, June 6, 2009. Many "Campions"
attended West Catholic.
The anticipation of Michael's graduation has triggered memories and profound
gratitude. As Michael has grown, he made his own connections. I don't know all
the folks who have helped my son and our family toward this happy occasion.
Sometimes I don't even know our son.
Larry and I were stunned to see him TAP DANCE and perform a singing, dancing
solo in "THE WIZ", his HS musical. Neither of us knew he could sing or dance,
or perform in front of a packed auditorium.
In our home, we try to live in ways that pay kindness forward and help others
achieve the goals they set for themselves and their children. In a more
immediate and specific way, my husband and I can also seed a party with cases
of cold drinks and tables staggered under the weight of BBQ (including Veggie
items) and extend an invitation to those who have helped us along the way.
So... if you consider yourself family, friend or helpful neighbor; if you were
a cheerleader or coach (CPY Soccer, SFDS & WC Track & Basketball, Ultimate
Disc, Foam Swords); if you helped at the day care or after school center at
PIC; if you taught (youth choir, child crafts at the UC Arts League, at
schools); if you carpooled, tutored, shared meals, befriended us; if you hired
me to Buy, Sell or Rent a home for you, or gave work opportunities to our kids;
or were a helpful colleague; if you offered constructive criticism, delighted
us with your beautiful garden or great holiday decorations, if you volunteered
to plant trees or improve our neighborhood, or connected us in any other ways
that strengthened our minds, hearts and/or wallets thus helping us get to this
point of celebrating our young adult well begun...
... than please let us feed you on Saturday, June 19, between 2 & 8 PM, in our
back yard.
Come early or late, at your convenience. Come as you are, straight from
gardening, work or play. Feel free to bring well behaved children or a "date".
Feel free, but not obligated, to bring a Pot Luck. Try to let us know, by
E-mail, if you can join us, but don't hesitate to come, even if you can't
decide until Monday.
We plan a simple, but lively summer dinner. We'll supply cold Beverages and
fresh Amoroso Rolls, Beef Hot Dogs, Burgers, Condiments, Salad and Cakes, and
will set up tables for anything else that our guests want to contribute. It is
often the additions that make our parties so memorable.
We will have a private, family celebration for our Michael, but want to
recognize the many who helped us succeed in this, one of our most important
goals for our family.
Please make private e-replies to let us know if you can join us.
We invite you to send private e-replies with stories of connections to Mike, to
be collated for his future reading.
All the best!
Liz Campion (Michael Motyka's mom)
