From: Paul Harvey [email protected] Subject: Reuniting a Family In our neighborhood I know there are many families trying to reunite themselves with children/relatives left behind wherever they have originated from. But there is one family in particular, that of James and Sarah Kettor, that I am working hard to help reunite, because the number of their children (8) resonates especially for Paula and me. (We too had eight).
Up until this week the US Government had said that only those 5 under 21 could/would be considered for acceptance to join James and Sarah. When the paperwork finally arrived lo and behold it included all of the children!!! All eight!!! The community/parish of St. Francis de Sales: United by the Most Blessed Sacrament has stepped up and raised over $2500 to fly the family to the United States. We need another $6000 or so. A link to read the whole story is: http://www.thebulletin.us/articles/2009/04/17/news/local_state/doc49e8048205 dce862405177.txt There is going to be a benefit concert this coming Sunday afternoon, May 31, at 2 PM. Tickets to hear Charlie Zahm sing "Songs from the Faith of Our Fathers ... and More" Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. What door? The de Sales School auditorium, 47th and Springfield, an acoustically superb venue for this internationally recognized folk singer. I can be reached off-list at [email protected] or by landline at 215-729-7439, if you have any questions or would like to join the committee formed to reunite this family. Checks for tickets (be sure to tell us how many) or for contributions should be made out to the Knights of Peter Claver and mailed to the parish at 4625 Springfield Avenue, Philadelphia PA 19143. Please put "Kettor Family Fund" in the advice section of your check. Thanks for considering this request in the midst of the economic chaos so many are facing. Paul Harvey
