Using music, movement and simple text, families will develop a better appreciation for performance energy and theatricality, while celebrating the art of collaboration. (Note: $30 fee is per student. One parent or guardian per student may attend for free.) *Will's Words* *10-13 year olds* *Saturday, July 25, 9:00am-12:00pm* *or* *Saturday, August 1, 9:00am-12:00pm* Utilizing the process of professional actors, students will engage in a series of fast-paced and exciting exercises exploring techniques in storytelling. Emphasis will be placed on understanding Shakespeare's language: what it means, how it relates to our lives today, and how to make the language come to life onstage. Themes from The Comedy of Errors will be explored as students create their own original scenes, culminating in a short showing at the end of the workshop. *Acting Shakespeare* *14-18 year olds* *Saturday, July 25, 1:00pm-4:00pm* *or* *Saturday, August 1, 1:00pm-4:00pm* How do I act Shakespeare? Students will explore themes and text through the lens of the actor, with an emphasis on understanding and communicating Shakespeare's language. Working with scenes from The Comedy of Errors, Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night's Dream, this workshop is sure to help students with their exploration of Shakespearean language in their school curriculum. *Instructor Bios* Jess Conda received her BFA in Acting from Arcadia University in 2003 and has taught theatre at People's Light and Theatre Company, Collingdale Community School, Delaware Valley Friends School, and the Montgomery Theater. Add to the muddle an angry wife, a beautiful sister-in-law, a greedy courtesan, and a priest known for his excellent exorcism skills --- and the result is Shakespeare's snappiest comedy. We look forward to seeing you in the park this summer! Marla Burkholder and Maria Möller Co-Artistic Directors Shakespeare in Clark Park
