SHAKESPEARE
returns to the Bowl in Clark Park in "The Comedy of Errors", directed by
Pig Iron Theatre's Alex Torra. The show runs Wednesday, jul 29 to
Sunday, aug 2 at 7pm.
When two sets of separated-at-birth identical twin brothers end up in
almost exactly the same place at almost exactly the same time, confusion
is bound to break out. Add to the muddle an angry wife, a beautiful
sister-in-law, a greedy courtesan, and a priest known for his excellent
exorcism skills -- and the result is Shakespeare’s snappiest comedy.
"The Comedy of Errors" features Luigi Sottile, Bradley K. Wrenn, Justin
Jain and Ben Camp as the twins. Marla Burkholder plays the
loudly-suffering wife, with Mary Tuomanen as her charming sister.
Christopher Bohan, Jess Conda, Wendy Staton, and David Sweeny take on
multiple roles -- and the whole cast plays original music on everything
from kazoos to the kitchen sink.
If you haven't seen Shakespeare in the Park before ...or if you have
friends who don't know what they're missing by living here ... you've
got to check out this wonderful community event. Bring a blanket and a
picnic supper, and enjoy the cool of a true West Philly evening.
