Craig,

Much of the diarrhea comes from bad water.  Spraying doesn't solve that.  You're right, lack of mosquito netting and bad water kill huge numbrs of people.

(Like Sharpton and Gingrich are teaming up to champion urban education issues, perhaps you and I should start a project to dig wells in Africa!  We could ask UCD and bill Clinton for  grants.  We could call our group, "Communists and Tea Partiers United for Clean Water and Mosquito Nets."  I have friends in Ghana; we can start there, and walk to Tanzania.  That will give us a chance to practise our Kiswahili and dig wells, as we get to know each other along the way.)

Craig, there is a big difference between any use of chemicals, and arbitrary use for neo-Victorian aesthetic sensibilities.

With the unregulated corporate greed that your buddies worship, the proper science is always avoided before millions of gallons of these chemicals are dumped.  You can point out that a demand for no chemical use has trade offs.  But no kids are dying from nutritious dandelion in Clark park.  These millions of gallons of pesticides are being dumped to increase corporate profits.  (Organic farmers have found that good techniques can increase yield above chemically doused soil.)

Whether chemicals are useful or not, we can't trust the corporate driven processes that deem these chemicals safe!  Dumping them without good reason, other than obscene corporate profits, are the realities people need to start considering, if we are going to save the planet.  If the bees die, right  wingers are going to be screwed like the rest of us!

Why is dandelion so hated that we need these chemicals?  Have corporations brain washed consumers into believing that dandelion is the anti-christ in disguise?

Peace bro,

Glenn

PS: You will need a yellow fever vaccine before we fly to Accra

Since the early 60's, with extraordinary intensity, society has sanctioned industry & medicine spending huge amounts of money on affecting better living through chemistry. There have been some errors, like Rachel Carson saving some wildlife while tens of millions of Third World People have succumbed to malaria. By the way, have you ever seen a little black kid die from diarrhea in Clark Park? I didn't think so, but its happening right now in Africa because of no spraying and no availability of anti-mosquito netting. Do you use mosquito netting? And by the way, the rich people in a very upscale area of Delco recently had State sponsored spraying to kill Nile Virus carrying mosquitos. I know you have a problem living like the rich, but even when it is "right"? And, turf management is a shovel (sprayer) ready economic driver. Get down with BHo; get Patriotic-More Wall Street for our little streets!

Talking about chemistry gone wrong, you were never a research subject at 3401 XX were you? Since you are a very long time member of the Hood.

Peace On, Bro!

As I write, poison is being sprayed on Clark Park near Baltimore.  You will only see a tiny warning sign at some park entrances that tells you to stay off until it is dry.

The man is driving an oil spewing mechanical contraption that sprays poison out the front end.  Our community leaders, UCD/FOCP, tell us these death chemicals are safe enough to drink and only kill sacred plants like the beautiful dandelion.  It probably kills river plants after the rains, but who cares?

I know our district leaders are "like totally green" with their upscale park plan.  Who cares if all the bees die?  Bees don't buy green lattes at our upscale dining destinations!

Keep the kids and dogs out,
Glenn
