We ate at Marrakesh last night and loved it! The review on
philaspeaks is spot on. The tagine (not a platter) was wonderful and
plentiful. Platters come with saffron rice, salad, and your choice
of appetizer. There are enough appetizers - all veggie - as well as
salad and rice to accommodate vegetarians, so please do not be
discouraged! Not sure if the soups are meat based, but the harira is
awesome. The ambience does lack warmth, but the food makes up for
it. The owner is Moroccan, very friendly and accommodating. Specials
Thurs, Fri, Sat. Open every day!
PLUS...
We also noticed a new (and tiny) place at the southeast corner of 42nd
& Baltimore, Desi Chaat House (desichaathouse.com). They're serving,
but the menus aren't printed yet - will be ready on Tuesday. If
you're not familiar with Chaat, check out the following:

The owner was very kind when I asked him about chaat (which I wasn't
familiar with). I was tempted to order some tasties to go, but we
were already set on Moroccan... :-)
Happy to be eating in west philly,
