Food and Beverages are still needed to fuel the celebration of the too short
life of Moses Malloy-Jiggets.
His Funeral Mass is scheduled at St. Francis de Sales, at 4625 Springfield
Avenue / 19143 on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2009 at Noon

Folks coming to the church service, may leave "Pot Luck Contributions", for the
reception to follow (about 1-3 PM) at the School Hall from 10:30 AM on.
Most needed are:
Desserts (Cookies, Brownies, Lemon Squares or anything easy to serve),
Sodas, Juices, Bottled Water,
Trays of Nibbles such as Grape Leaves, Olives, Celery with Cream Cheese, cubed
Cheese or a wheels of Brie, Deviled Eggs, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, etc,
Items should be on dishes that can be trashed, recycled or donated to the
Parish Porch Sale. Trying to track and return dishes is an unwanted burden.
We expect at least 250 people to come to the reception in Moses' honor. Food
Donors should imagine how much they might consume and do a +1 doubling. So if
you think you will eat 4 courses and 2 sodas, bring: a casserole, (there will
be chafing dishes and sterno); or 2 six packs of beverages; or a dozen donuts,
etc.. The young and broke should come without obligation and the better cooks
and more established friends can make more spectacular contributions. If there
are left overs they can be packed and donated to other food charities or frozen
to provide a few reheat-able meals for Moe's family during the coming, grief
hindered days.
Thanks for helping send "Ag3nt Moe" off in style.
I apologize for duplications, but Moses was a kid who traveled in so many
circles, (Scouts, Hip Hop, Sports, etc.) I feel it is better to get the work
out in the broadest ways possible.

Happy New Year!
Liz

Subject: [Ucneighbors] Sad news for the neighborhood
Date: Thu, 31 Dec 2009 12:41 -0500

Moses Jiggetts passed away on December 18th while on a visit to family in
Atlanta, GA at the age of 23. Moses was known to many people of all ages
throughout the neighborhood; he attended Lea School and St. Francis de Sales
School. He was was one of the first members of the re-chartered Boy Scout
Troop 152, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and continuing with the Troop as
an Assistant Scoutmaster. He was an early participant in the Clark Park Youth
Soccer League, and when he had passed the maximum age to play, began the
tradition of players returning as junior assistant coaches. Moses was involved
in many of the musical activities of the neighborhood, including co-hosting The
Rotunda's "Gathering" as AG3NT M.O.E.

Moses was always visible around the neighborhood; cruising on his skateboard,
DJ'ing block parties on Larchwood Avenue, or instigating the infamous snowstorm
football games at Clark Park. He was taken from us by complications of Still's
Disease, a rare autoimmune disorder that he had battled since 2004.

Those who would like an opportunity to remember Moses and say goodbye are
invited to join his family for his funeral Mass on Saturday, January 2nd at
Noon, at St. Francis de Sales Church, followed by a potluck lunch and
celebration of his life in the school hall.
