If your dog wets the rug, and you say to it, "Bad dog!", your criticism
is accurate and your argument is fair.
However, if a burglar tries to break into your home; and your dog barks
an alarm; and the burglar, knowing your dog has a reputation for wetting
the rug, says to it, "Shh ... bad dog," in an attempt to trick you into
ignoring what the dog is saying -- then that would constitute an "ad
canem attack". It is a flawed and deceptive argument.
Happy snow day, everyone. Support neighborhood business; eat pizza.
