La Bernardinia Baroque Ensemble will present "Largo e Dolce," works
by Johann Sebastian Bach for harpsichord, recorder, and viola da gamba.
La Bernardinia Baroque Ensemble is one of the most recent additions
to Philadelphia's vibrant early music scene. Performing on copies of
period instruments, the group specializes in chamber music from
1600-1750 presenting engaging programs with an intimate and rich
sonority. While the core ensemble consists of Rainer Beckmann,
recorder; Donna Fournier, viola da gamba; and Marcia Kravis,
harpsichord, guest musicians are invited on a regular basis to
explore the extensive, varied repertoire of Baroque chamber music.
And on May 23rd at 1pm, CHANA CRAWFORD, Lyrical Soprano/Mezzo
Soprano will present a program of arias and art songs.
Ms. Crawford is completing her junior year at The Boston Conservatory
of Music in Classical Voice and Opera. She recently performed in the
Boston Conservatory's opera, Bellini's Capuletti EI Montecchi. Ms.
Crawford will be taking part in the Intermezzo Young Artist Program
at the Portland Music Festival, Portland, Maine, June 21 - July 19,
2010, where Alms Sister in Suor Angelica and Dido and Aneas will be
performed.
A free-will offering will be collected to benefit the Intermezzo Program.
