I think it's important for Philadelphians to recognize that the assault on libraries is occurring across the country, like the privatization of parks and destruction of public recreation centers. Ambitious Nutter is just following the orders of corporate America and his national corporate party.
These public assets provide the location for saving the planet and transforming society away from consumption. How much carbon is used by libraries, festivals and volleyball games in the park? Mentally healthy people will often explain that the best times of their lives occurred in parks, libraries, and recreation centers. Libraries and a public school saved my life!
