Some time on Loews & HomeDepot websites might help. There is a limit to how ragged your underlying floor can be and the product adhere. Some of the commercial advantages of carpet tile are that high traffic or spill areas can be replaced without having to relay an entire floor. I have used them successfully in elevators and around the "walk-off" area of building entrances. You will have to review the installation guidelines for you specific tile; again they are like carpet -cheap synthetic to gorgeous expensive wools. Craig
