Here is the draft of the ordinance to authorize the sale and
privatization of Philadelphia parks. There will be a hearing on 27th of
October, and then the bill will be made into law.
Some of us knew when Fairmount park and the recreation department were
combined that it would enable the official sale of parks. I reported on
the list, a couple of years ago, that I was informed by a Fairmount park
supervisor that large riverfront areas of Fairmount park are wanted by
developers for upscale luxury housing.
They make it look like there will be a process. Haha, like the historic
commission.

Also: At one event where I confronted the doofus commissioner about the
privatization of Clark Park, I found out about another scheme using Penn
Praxis. Taxpayers hired Praxis to locate 500 acres of additional land
around the city. It looks like taxpayer money will be used to acquire
lots which will be transferred to BIDS and corporations for upscale
gardens. The coded word they used was the infamous "public-private
partnerships." I reported that to the list earlier this year.
It's being sold as a plan to bring green space closer to all
Philadelphians. I recognize that it is a plan to use taxpayer money to
give land grants to corporations. Just more welfare for the rich, the
way we like it.
